Czy jest możliwe świecenie pokarmów w mojej anglojęzycznej parafii?
Oczywiście, chodzi o świecenie pokarmów w Wielka Sobotę, czyli popularna „święconkę“. Odpowiedź na tytułowe pytanie brzmi: prawdopodobnie tak. Wymaga to jednak pewnego wysiłku. Jeśli tylko Twoja rodzina jest tym zainteresowana – to trochę mało, jeśli jest tym zainteresowana jeszcze jedna lub dwie rodziny – jest lepiej, jeśli jest Was więcej – jest już całkiem nieźle. Należy zacząć od pójścia do Proboszcza, i to na początku Wielkiego Postu i przedstawić prośbę. Miej jednak świadomość, ze to dla niego coś zupełnie... niespotykanego, niemal jak z... kosmosu. Dlatego musisz mu dokładnie wytłumaczyć o co chodzi (zobacz np. w angielskiej wikipedii).
Pomoca będzie dla niego tez schemat świecenia pokarmów (ang. Food blessing lub food blessing service), który jest w załączniku 1 do tego listu. Umówcie sie na jedna tylko godzinę w Wielka Sobotę, np. na 11:00 am
Bedzie wielce rozsądne zrobić polsko-angielski plakat zachęcający do święconki, np. taki jak w załączniku 2 i umieścić go, gdzie tylko się da, np. kościół, polski sklep, polska szkoła a nawet w oknie Twojego domu jeśli jest widoczne od ulicy.

bless this food for the Easter table.
Lord
Jesus Christ,
You
ordered your disciples to prepare the Paschal Meal the night before
your passion and death. On the Day of Resurrection you accepted the
invitation of two of the disciples and shared a table with them, and
then late in the evening you came to the Apostles and ate with them.
Give us the grace, we ask you, to experience your presence among us
as we gather at the meal on the day of your victory, and always to
participate in your life and resurrection.
Living
Bread, who came down from heaven and in the Eucharist give life to
the world, bless + this bread and all festive bakery products, in
memory of the bread, you used to feed the people who listened to you
in the wilderness and the bread you prepared at the lake for your
disciples after the resurrection.
Lamb
of God, who conquered evil and washed the world from sin, bless +
this meat, and all other food we will eat in memory of the Paschal
Lamb and the meal you shared with the Apostles at the Last Supper.
Bless, too our salt so that it protects us from corruption.
Christ,
our Life and Resurrection, bless + these eggs, sign of the new life,
so that when we share them with family and friends we may also share
the joy of your presence among us.
